Abstract. One of the effort that can overcome problems for the People Living with HIV AIDS (PLWHA) and to help them to be motivated to continue live positively is through counseling services which given by the professional counselor with persuasion communication techniques. HIV/AIDS is one of diseases that threaten human’s life. Nowadays, there is no country that free from HIV/AIDS. The aim of the research was to determine the persuasion technique that carried out by counselors in Cimahi City in providing the counseling towards PLWHA. The method that used in this research is a Qualitative Method using Case Study through interview techniques, observation, and literature study. The results of this research showed that the counselor’s persuasion technique in motivating PLWHA in Cimahi was done by giving messages that persuaded PLWHA which also can change the PLWHA’s behavior to face their life to live more positively and using media could affected the thoughts of PLWHA.Keywords: HIV AIDS, Counseling, Persuasion Communication Technique Abstrak. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah yang terjadi pada Orang Dengan HIV AIDS (ODHA) serta untuk membantu ODHA untuk termotivasi melanjutkan hidup secara positif adalah melalui pelayanan bimbingan konseling yang diberikan oleh konselor yang professional melalui teknik komunikasi persuasi. HIV/AIDS merupakan salah satu penyakit yang mengancam hidup manusia. Saat ini tidak ada negara yang terbebas dari HIV/AIDS. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui teknik persuasi yang dilakukan oleh konselor di Kota Cimahi dalam memberikan konseling kepada penyandang HIV AIDS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode Kualitatif. menggunakan Studi Kasus melalui teknik wawancara, observasi dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik persuasi konselor dalam memotivasi penyandang HIV AIDS di Kota Cimahi dilakukan dengan memberikan pesan yang mengajak serta dapat mengubah perilaku ODHA dalam melangsungkan hidupnya dan menggunakan media yang dapat mempengaruhi pemikiran ODHA.Kata kunci: HIV AIDS, Konseling, Teknik Komunikasi Persuasi |
