dc.description ABSTRACTMaterial requirement planning at PT. Kartika Inti Sejati does not use a special method. Based on the initial analysis, it was found that there is a need for 1712 pcs of special butter for order completion in October 2018. This study attempts to minimize inventory costs using the material requirement planning method using two techniques namely lot for lot and part period balancing. The results of the calculation of costs using lot for lot technique is Rp. 536,933,454 and part period balancing techniques Rp. 516,581,590. ABSTRAK Perencanaan persediaan bahan baku di PT. Kartika Inti Sejati tidak menggunakan metode khusus.Berdasarkan analisis awal, didapatkan kebutuhan bagelen special butter  sebesar 1712 pcs untuk penyelesaian order pada bulan Oktober 2018. Penelitian ini mencoba melakukan minimasi biaya persediaan dengan menggunakan metode material requirement planning dengan mengunakan dua teknik yaitu lot for lot dan part period balancing. Hasil perhitungan biaya dengan menggunakan teknik lot for lot yaitu sebesar Rp. 536.933.454 dan teknik part period balancing Rp. 516.581.590.
