Abstract. Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver disease caused by Hepatitis virus. Hepatitis A and B is of public health problem in the world. The purpose of this research is to understand the characteristics of hepatitis A and B based on incidence, gender, age, type of occupation, and origin in Al-Islam Hospital in the periode of January – December. This type of research uses descriptive method. The research data are obtained from hepatitis A and B patient’s medical record at Al-Islam hospital in 2017 that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed that there were 72 cases of hepatitis A and B, which are 67 cases of hepatitis A and 5 cases of hepatitis B. Hepatitis A’s samples based on gender are mostly came from male with percentage of 70,149%, based on age are mostly came from age of 30-34 with percentage of 20,895%, based on type of occupation are mostly came from entrepreneur with percentage of 41,791%, and based on origin are mostly came from Buah Batu sub-district with percentage of 17,910%. Keywords: Hepatitis A and B, Gender, Age, Occupation, Origin of regionAbstrak. Hepatitis adalah penyakit peradangan hati yang disebabkan oleh virus hepatitis. Sampai saat ini penyakit hepatitis A dan B masih menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat di dunia. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran karakteristik penyakit hepatitis A dan B berdasarkan angka kejadian, jenis kelamin, usia, jenis pekerjaan, dan asal daerah di Rumah Sakit Al-Islam periode Januari-Desember 2017. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Data penelitian diperoleh dari rekam medik pasien Hepatitis A dan B di Rumah Sakit Al- Islam Bandung tahun 2017 yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pasien Hepatitis A dan B sebanyak 72 kasus. Hepatitis A dengan jumlah 67 kasus sedangkan Hepatitis B dengan jumlah 5 kasus. sampel menurut jenis kelamin pada hepatitis A paling banyak adalah laki-laki sebesar 70,149%, berdasarkan usia berada pada usia 30-34 tahun sebesar 20,895%, berdasarkan jenis pekerjaan yang terbanyak adalah wiraswasta sebesar 41,791%, dan berdasarkan asal daerah yang terbanyak adalah kecamatan buah batu bandung sebesar 17,910 %.
