Abstract. Breast cancer is the second most frequent cancer in the world and the most common cause of death. Chemotherapy is an important therapy for treating breast cancer, one of therapy is the taxane regimen. Side effects of taxane regimen chemotherapy include fatigue, hair loss, nausea vomiting. The degree of nausea vomiting caused by chemotherapy is influenced by age. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between age with the degree of nausea vomiting in breast cancer patients who were given taxane regimen chemotherapy in Al-Ihsan Hospital Bandung. This research method is analytic observational with cross sectional design. Total respondents were taken using consecutive sampling technique as many as 76 patients. Data were taken from secondary data from medical records while the degree of nausea and vomiting was assessed using the Rhodes INVR questionnaire. Statistical analysis of the relationship between age with the degree of nausea vomiting using the chi square test. The results showed that the age of ≤55 years mostly experienced a degree of severe vomiting nausea with p-value of 0.02. Conclusions of the study showed that there was a relationship between age and degree of nausea vomiting in breast cancer patients given taxane chemotherapy. The degree of nausea vomiting caused by chemotherapy is also influenced by gender, anxiety level, and type of chemotherapy drugs.Keywords: Age, breast cancer, chemotherapy, nausea vomiting.Abstrak. Kanker payudara merupakan kanker paling sering kedua di dunia dan penyebab kematian yang paling sering terjadi. Kemoterapi merupakan terapi yang penting untuk mengobati kanker payudara, salah satunya dengan regimen taxane. Efek samping kemoterapi regimen taxane berupa kelelahan, rambut rontok, mual dan muntah. Derajat mual muntah akibat kemoterapi dipengaruhi oleh usia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan usia dengan derajat mual muntah pada pasien kanker payudara yang diberi kemoterapi regimen taxane di RSUD Al-Ihsan Bandung. Metode penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Total responden diambil dengan menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling sebanyak 76 pasien. Data diambil dari data sekunder berupa rekam medis sedangkan derajat mual muntah dinilai dengan menggunakan kuesioner Rhodes INVR. Analisis statistik hubungan usia dengan derajat mual muntah menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa usia ≤55 tahun sebagian besar mengalami derajat mual muntah berat dengan p-value 0,02. Simpulan penelitian menunjukan terdapat hubungan antara usia dengan derajat mual muntah pada pasien kanker payudara yang diberikan kemoterapi taxane. Derajat mual muntah akibat kemoterapi dipengaruhi juga oleh jenis kelamin, tingkat kecemasan, dan jenis obat kemoterapinya.Kata kunci: Kanker payudara, kemoterapi, mual muntah, usia. |
