Abstract. Reaction time is a conscious motor response to a stimulus. Reaction time has a speed and strength factor that can be trained regularly. The faster result is seen from the motor movements the shorter the speed reaction time. The speed of reaction time is very influential in a sports competition that involves alertness to the opponent's movements. Sports games that require athletes to have fast reaction time speeds are groups of table tennis and basketball players. The purpose of this research is to know the differences in speed reaction time between table tennis players and basket players. The research method used was a cross-sectional analytic method. The sample size is determined by using an average hypothesis test formula of two populations of 40 men consisting of 20 groups of table tennis players and 20 groups of basketball players. The data is collected by using the ruler drop test method to assess the speed of reaction time of research subjects. The data then processed using Saphiro-Wilk test and independent t test. Therefore, it can be concluded that the speed of reaction time of table tennis players is faster than basketball players.Keywords: Basketball, Reaction Time, Ruler Drop Test, Table TennisAbstrak. Waktu reaksi adalah respon motorik yang disadari terhadap suatu rangsangan. Waktu reaksi memiliki faktor kecepatan dan kekuatan yang dapat di latih dengan teratur. Semakin cepat gerakan motorik yang dihasilkan semakin singkat atau pendek waktu reaksi. Cepat lambatnya waktu reaksi sangat berpengaruh dalam suatu kompetisi olahraga yang melibatkan kewaspadaan terhadap gerakan lawan. Olahraga permainan yang menuntut atletnya untuk memiliki kecepatan waktu reaksi yang cepat adalah kelompok pemain tenis meja dan basket. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan kecepatan waktu reaksi pada pemain tenis meja dan pemain basket. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode cross-sectional analytic di lapangan. Dalam penelitian ini ukuran sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan formula uji hipotesis rata rata dua populasi sebanyak 40 orang lelaki yang terdiri dari 20 orang kelompok pemain tenis meja dan 20 orang kelompok pemain basket. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode ruler drop test untuk menilai kecepatan waktu reaksi subjek penelitian. Data tersebut akan diolah menggunakan Saphiro-Wilk testdan independent t test. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kecepatan waktu reaksi pemain tenis meja lebih cepat dari pemain basket.
